An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a titanium post, and a crown goes on top. It is the closest thing dentistry has to putting the tooth back.
What an implant is, and when it is the right answer
A small titanium post is placed into the jawbone where the tooth used to be. Over the following months the bone grows around it, which is what makes an implant stable in a way a bridge or a denture is not.
Once it has integrated, an abutment and a crown go on top. From the outside it looks and works like a tooth, and it does not rely on the teeth either side of the gap for support.
Implants are not right for everyone. Bone volume, gum health and general health all matter. A 3D scan tells us which of those apply to you before anything is promised.

A 3D scan
Our scanner shows bone volume and the position of nerves and sinuses. This is what decides whether an implant is possible.

You are told what is involved, how long it takes and what it costs before anything begins.

Placement
The post is placed. This is a surgical appointment and you are given aftercare instructions.

Healing
The bone integrates with the post. This takes months and cannot be rushed. It is the part that makes implants work.

An abutment and a custom crown are fitted on top, matched to your other teeth.

What it costs, and how people pay
Price depends on what you actually need, so we look first and tell you the number before anything starts. What we can tell you now is how it gets paid for.
- Insured. In network with most major PPO plans, and your benefits get checked before treatment is planned.
- Medicaid or CHIP. Both accepted, which a lot of Dallas practices will not do.
- No insurance. Our membership plan covers cleanings, exams and routine x-rays from $30 a month, with 20% off other treatment.
- Larger treatment. Cherry, Sunbit and HFD payment plans spread the cost.

- How long does a dental implant take from start to finish?
- Placement is one appointment, but the bone needs months to integrate with the post before the crown goes on. Anyone quoting you a single fast number without seeing a scan is guessing. You get a timeline for your case after the 3D scan.
- Am I a candidate for an implant?
- It depends on bone volume, gum health and your general medical history. The 3D scan answers it properly. If an implant is not realistic we will tell you that and go through the alternatives.
- How much do dental implants cost in Dallas?
- It depends on how many, whether any preparation is needed first, and what goes on top. We price it after the scan rather than quoting a number that changes later. Cherry, Sunbit and HFD payment plans are available for larger treatment.
- How long do implants last?
- Implants are designed as a long term solution and many last decades, but that depends heavily on gum health and maintenance. They are not immune to problems and they still need cleaning and check-ups.
