The short version
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, and to see whether our Google and Facebook ads lead to a phone call or a booking. It runs no session recording. We do not sell or rent information about visitors to anyone.
If you fill in a form or call us, we use what you tell us to answer you and to look after you as a patient. Nothing more.
What this website collects
Automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include the IP address making the request, the page requested, the time, and the browser reported. These exist for security and for keeping the site running. They are not used to build a profile of you and they are not linked to any patient record.
When you choose to give it
- Appointment requests. Booking is handled by Zocdoc, a third party. Choosing to book takes you to zocdoc.com, where what you enter is governed by Zocdoc's own privacy policy and terms rather than ours. We receive the appointment details so we can see you, and we use them to contact you about that appointment.
- Phone calls. During opening hours our front desk answers. Outside them a call service takes a message. Either way what you tell us is used to arrange your care.
- Request forms on our offer pages. A couple of pages — the new patient offer and the implant pages we link to from adverts — have a short form instead of sending you to Zocdoc. They ask for your first name and mobile number, optionally your email, and on the implant page your ZIP code. You have to tick a box agreeing we may call or text you before the form will send, and we record the moment you ticked it. We use what you give us to ring you back about that request. Nothing more, and we do not need your date of birth, insurance or medical history to make the call.
- The implant questions. Before that form, the implant page asks a few multiple-choice questions so the team can prepare: how many teeth are involved, your timeline, how far you are travelling, and how you would most likely pay — which includes an optional credit range and an optional yes/no on household income. Those two are there only to work out which payment plan is worth discussing, both have a "prefer not to say" answer, and you can skip them. We do not run a credit check and no lender sees your answers unless you separately apply with them.
- Where those answers go. Form submissions are sent to GoHighLevel (LeadConnector), the software the practice uses to manage enquiries and callbacks. They hold the information on our behalf so our team can follow up. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you.
- Texts. If you tick the consent box we may text you about that request, including automated messages. Reply STOP at any time and it ends. Agreeing is never a condition of being treated, and message and data rates may apply.
Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google
Tag Manager, to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where
visits come from (for example a search engine or a link from our Google listing).
To do that it sets a small number of cookies in your browser (their names begin
with _ga) that recognise the same browser on a later visit. It does not
tell us who you are, it is not linked to any patient record, and Google does not use
it to show you personalised advertising on our behalf. You can stop it entirely with
Google's browser
opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site.
Google Ads. When we advertise on Google we want to know whether an ad led to a phone call or a booking. So if you tap our phone number, or leave for Zocdoc to book, a Google Ads tag tells Google that happened, along with the address of the page you were on. If you arrived from one of our ads, a Google cookie lets Google connect that back to the ad. We use it only to see which ads are worth paying for. We do not build advertising audiences from it, we do not use it to follow you around the web, and we never send Google your name, phone number or anything you tell us. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google's advertising cookies are switched off for your visit.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram). When we advertise on Facebook or Instagram we use a Meta pixel to see whether an ad led to a call or a booking. We have deliberately limited where it runs: it does not load at all on our treatment pages or our blog — the pages about a specific dental problem, such as gum disease, root canals or emergencies. Meta is never told that you read one of those pages. It loads on our general pages, such as the home page, contact and the pages about our dentists. We have also turned off the setting that would let it collect details you type into a page, we build no advertising audiences from it, and we never send Meta your name, phone number or anything about your care. As with Google, a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser stops the pixel loading entirely.
Call tracking. So we can tell which calls came from this website rather than from a directory or a passing van, the phone number shown on most pages is swapped by our practice software, GoHighLevel, for one of a small set of tracking numbers. Ringing it connects you to exactly the same front desk on the same system — it simply records that the call started here. Our real number, (469) 981-1700, is the one in the footer, on our Google listing and in every directory, and dialling it works just the same. The swap tells us which page and which advert the call came from. It does not tell us who you are, and it is not linked to any patient record.
We do not use session recording. Your browser may also store small amounts of data for its own purposes, such as remembering your preferred colour scheme, and that never leaves your device.
Some things do load from outside our own server, and it is fair that you know:
- Google Fonts. The typeface used across this site is served by Google, which means Google receives the IP address of the request. No cookie is set by this.
- Social links. Where we link to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google or Yelp profiles, following that link takes you to that company's platform, which has its own tracking and its own policy.
The payment calculator on our payment plans page
Our payment plans page can show a calculator provided by Cherry, our financing partner. It does not load unless you press the button asking for it. If you never press it, nothing from Cherry runs and nothing is stored.
If you do press it, you should know what happens: the calculator is loaded from Cherry, it uses an analytics service called Segment, and it stores two anonymous identifiers in your browser so it can recognise the session. That is Cherry's tool operating under Cherry's own privacy policy, not ours, and we do not receive those identifiers. You can clear them at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser.
We chose to put it behind a button precisely so that reading the page costs you nothing.
Your health information is covered separately
Everything above is about a website. Your medical and dental records are protected health information and are handled under different rules entirely, including the federal HIPAA Privacy Rule and Texas law.
Our Notice of Privacy Practices sets out how we use and disclose your dental records, the rights you have over them — including your right under Texas law to an electronic copy of your record within 15 business days of a written request — and how to complain if you think we have got it wrong. You are given a copy of that notice as a patient. To ask for a copy, call the practice on (469) 981-1700 or ask at the front desk.
Children
We treat children, and their parents or guardians provide their information to us directly. This website is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from a child through the site itself.
Your choices
- You can ask what information we hold about you as a patient and request corrections. Those rights, and how to use them, are set out in full in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which we will give you a copy of on request.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you for anything other than your care.
- You can ask us not to use information about your visit to this website for advertising. See below.
- You can browse this website without giving us anything at all.
To make any of these requests, call the practice on (469) 981-1700 or write to the address on this page.
Texas residents
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texans rights over personal data held by larger businesses. A practice of our size is exempt from most of it, and health information covered by HIPAA sits outside it entirely. We are telling you what we do anyway, because the exemption is about what we are made to do, not about what is fair.
- We do not sell personal data about visitors to this website, and we do not sell or share information about our patients.
- Categories we collect through this website: technical data your browser sends with each request (IP address, browser, pages viewed), and anything you choose to type into a form or tell us on the phone.
- Why: to keep the site running and secure, to see which pages people find useful, and to answer you if you get in touch.
- Who else is involved: our hosting provider, Google (for analytics and fonts), Zocdoc (only if you choose to book), and Cherry (only if you press the button to load the payment calculator).
- Opt out of advertising-related tracking: if your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a request not to use your visit for targeted advertising and we honour it. You can also ask us directly using the phone number on this page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
