Why braces are still the default for complex cases
Braces are brackets bonded to the teeth with a wire running through them. Tightening the wire applies steady pressure, and the teeth follow it. Because they are fixed in place, they work whether or not you remember to do anything.
That reliability is why braces still handle cases that aligners struggle with, particularly significant rotation, large gaps, and bites that need real correction rather than cosmetic alignment.
They are more visible than aligners. That is the honest trade, and for some people the shorter or more predictable treatment is worth it.

What it costs, and how people pay
Price depends on what you actually need, so we look first and tell you the number before anything starts. What we can tell you now is how it gets paid for.
- Insured. In network with most major PPO plans, and your benefits get checked before treatment is planned.
- Medicaid or CHIP. Both accepted, which a lot of Dallas practices will not do.
- No insurance. Our membership plan covers cleanings, exams and routine x-rays from $30 a month, with 20% off other treatment.
- Larger treatment. Cherry, Sunbit and HFD payment plans spread the cost.
Traditional Braces questions
- How long do braces take?
- It depends on how far the teeth have to move. After the consultation and records you will be given a projected range for your case rather than a general average.
- Do braces hurt?
- There is soreness for a few days after fitting and after each adjustment, because that is the teeth moving. Over the counter painkillers and soft food handle it for most people.
- What can I not eat with braces?
- Hard and sticky things are the problem, because they break brackets. You will get a clear list at your fitting rather than having to guess.
- Can adults get braces?
- Yes. Teeth move at any age. Treatment can take longer in adults because the bone is denser, but the result is the same.
