Orthodontics is moving teeth into better positions, whether that is for how they look, how they bite together, or both. It is not only for teenagers, and a large share of the people we treat are adults.
We offer both traditional braces and clear aligners. Which one suits you depends on how far the teeth need to move, your age, and how visible you are willing for the treatment to be.
Because we are a general practice as well, anything that needs sorting before orthodontics starts, like a filling or a cleaning, happens here rather than being sent somewhere else first.

Braces are bonded, or your first aligner trays are handed over with instructions.

A retainer at the end. Teeth move back without one, and that is true for every method.

Dr. Jason Nguyen looks after orthodontics at our Bishop Arts practice. You see the same dentist at every visit, so nobody starts your treatment over.
What it costs, and how people pay
Price depends on what you actually need, so we look first and tell you the number before anything starts. What we can tell you now is how it gets paid for.
- Insured. In network with most major PPO plans, and your benefits get checked before treatment is planned.
- Medicaid or CHIP. Both accepted, which a lot of Dallas practices will not do.
- No insurance. Our membership plan covers cleanings, exams and routine x-rays from $30 a month, with 20% off other treatment.
- Larger treatment. Cherry, Sunbit and HFD payment plans spread the cost.
Orthodontics questions
- Do you treat adults, or only children?
- Both. Adult orthodontics is a large part of what Dr. Nguyen does, and clear aligners in particular are popular with adults who do not want visible braces.
- Braces or clear aligners, which is better?
- Neither is better in general, they suit different cases. Braces handle more complex movement and do not rely on you wearing them. Aligners are removable and far less visible. After the consultation you will be told which is realistic for your case.
- At what age should a child see an orthodontist?
- The American Association of Orthodontists suggests a first check around age seven, when enough adult teeth are through to spot problems early. That check does not usually mean treatment starts then.
- Is orthodontic treatment covered by insurance?
- Many plans have a separate orthodontic benefit, often with a lifetime maximum rather than an annual one. We check what yours includes before treatment is planned.
